Aberdeen legend Willie Miller had his say last night on Celtic’s recent poor performances against Ross County and Aberdeen.
In the previous two games, the Hoops have failed to impress supporters with lacklustre displays, resulting in just one goal scored in each.
Both Alistair Johnston’s goal against Ross County and Nicolas Kuhn’s against Aberdeen took heavy deflections, showing that in 180 minutes of football, Celtic simply haven’t bombarded oppositions defences enough.
Miller expressed his concerns on BBC Radio Scotland, quoted by Inside Futbol, saying: “There are issues there and maybe confidence issues.
“When they look at the results Rangers are getting and the fact that they continually win games and put the pressure on, it is up to Celtic to do the same and take that pressure on board.
“And actually, get the results that they need.”
Miller’s comments highlight that despite Brendan Rodgers re-joining the club in the summer, Celtic finds themselves in a title race.
The Hoops are now joint top on goal difference, albeit with the opportunity to go three points ahead against Hibernian tonight at Easter Road.
Brendan Rodgers’ side also have a great chance to put in a convincing performance and, most importantly, increase their goal difference.
With Rangers currently only one goal behind on 38 to Celtic’s 39, every goal the Hoops score this season will prove crucial in retaining the Scottish Premiership title.
