“We can’t afford too many more mistakes” – Rodgers In Stark Celtic Warning

Celtic came away from Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon with a solitary Scottish Premiership point. The Bhoys needed to take all three back to Glasgow, but they didn’t make the most of their chances in the first half and allowed Aberdeen to pressurise them in the second.

It was a concerning afternoon that, yet again, saw the champions’ lead at the top of the league once more decrease. Things are in no way looking positive in Glasgow’s east end at the minute.

Saturday was the sixth time the Celts dropped points in the league this campaign. After the match, manager Brendan Rodgers warned his players they can’t do it many more times.

Speaking to Official Celtic FC club media on YouTube, the gaffer issued a message of caution to his men: “We can’t afford too many more mistakes between now and the end of the season”, he said.

“We’ve dropped too many points for our liking but we’ve just got to go to the next game. There’s still lots of games left and we just have to focus on ourselves.”

Up next for The Bhoys is a trip to Easter Road. Considering Rodgers has never won in Leith throughout his managerial career, fans won’t be full of optimism heading into the game.

Although the Hibees haven’t been on outstanding form this season, they took points off the Celts earlier in the campaign and if the same transpires this time around, supporters can worry even more.
