Nicolas Kuhn proved this afternoon why critics who have written him off may have spoken too soon.
Kuhn, who joined in January from Rapid Vienna, started against St Johnstone in a huge opportunity to show what he is made of, and he certainly did so with a goal and an assist.
The German winger had failed to impress in previous months despite a goal in only his second appearance against Aberdeen.
However, last weekend against Livingston, his assist for Daizen Maeda highlighted his incredible vision and creative threat.
Yet again, Kuhn threatened the opposition with his through ball for Kyogo’s goal against St Johnstone, a thing of beauty.
Kuhn also showed his goalscoring threat with his goal in the 46th minute, albeit Kyogo Furuhashi did the hard work with an expertly placed cross.
However, Kuhn’s instinct to get in the right position for the goal shows that when Kyogo moves wide, he has the instincts to move inside into the space Kyogo had previously occupied.
Celtic will have Yang Hyun-jun back from suspension for the visit to Livingston on March 31st.
With it being interesting to see who starts on the right wing, especially with James Forrest also scoring this afternoon off the bench, the Hoops have options in a position where no one was performing well only weeks ago.
