Nicolas Kuhn Opens Up On His Early Celtic Off The Pitch Struggles

Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn has opened up on his early struggles at the club. Few know about the hardships the German attacker endured when he initially signed for The Bhoys.

For three and a half million euros (Transfermarkt), the Hoops secured the services of Kuhn but he didn’t have the initial impact fans would expect from a January signing.

Although he netted at Pittodrie in his second Celtic appearance, the 24-year-old was underwhelming in the matches following. Recently, though, he has come into form, scoring once and assisting twice in his previous two matches.

To get to this stage, the former Bayern, Ajax, and RB Leipzig man had to overcome some hardships that he thinks few understand. Kuhn said: [Clyde 1 Superscoreboard] “I had a couple of problems with my teeth, I lost a lot of weight, and I had to get it back.

“Of course I had to get used to the team. It’s not always easy to come in the winter to a team always playing already.

“Not many people can imagine how hard it is to come to a new country, to adapt to the new team and everything so I’m happy it’s getting better now.”

It is not always the case that January arrivals hit the ground running. The two players Celtic brought in during the winter window are opposites in that regard.

Adam Idah became an instant hit while Kuhn was beginning to become somewhat of a scapegoat before he overcame his hardships and hit a run of form that Brendan Rodgers will hope continues post-international break.
