Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has scored two goals in his last two games, kickstarting an upturn of form that has come out of the blue.
The Japanese hitman has been somewhat underwhelming this season, netting 15 times in all competitions. Given the fact he has been fit throughout the campaign and played 40 games, such a number is relatively low for his high standard.
Kyogo was left out of the Japan squad for the upcoming international break, pertinently outlining on social media this morning that he isn’t afraid of failure.

He opened the scoring versus St. Johnstone on Saturday just under a week after coming off the bench to seal a win over Livingston in the Scottish Cup.
Manager Brendan Rodgers thinks increased squad competition has catalysed such a run of form: “You see the difference in Kyogo, from bringing in a really good striker in Adam, who has come in and done well”, he said (STV).
“Competition is so important and that’s probably what we haven’t quite had through the course of the season. Players have had to play lots of games when we would like to freshen it up.”
Having multiple options in several positions is only beneficial for Celtic. It is something the side has lacked this season when compared to last.
With Idah able to come in and contribute – as seen previously – and Kyogo looking back to his old self over the past few games, things feel as though they are beginning to come together ahead of a pivotal title run-in.
