Celtic has unveiled plans for an exciting pre-season tour in the United States this summer.
The tour kicks off in Washington, D.C., where Celtic will face Major League Soccer’s DC United at Audi Field on July 20.
The excitement continues as Celtic travels to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for a highly anticipated clash with Manchester City on July 23.
The tour culminates in a match against Chelsea at the iconic Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana on July 27.
Cameron Carter-Vickers, Celtic’s defender and U.S. international, expressed the team’s enthusiasm for the upcoming tour.
Carter-Vickers highlighted the significance of the match against Manchester City, acknowledging the global appeal of both clubs and the unique opportunity to engage with the club’s extensive fan base in the United States.
“Everyone at Celtic is really looking forward to our summer visit to the U.S. and of course myself as a U.S. national player, I can’t wait,” he told the Celtic Website.
“We have some great matches lined up at brilliant venues and of course our match with Manchester City will be bringing together two of the biggest names in the game. We are fortunate at Celtic to have such a global reach and we hope as many supporters as possible can attend the match in North Carolina – and of course we will be doing our very best to put on a great show for the fans.”
It’s set to be a great tour for the Hoops, against some good opposition. DC United will be part way through their season, so will offer the Hoops a unique challenge as they look to get up to speed.
