Brendan Rodgers Reacts To “Poor” Celtic Result and Performance

Celtic dropped two crucial points in the Scottish Premiership title race on Saturday afternoon. Kyogo opened the scoring early doors although it was cancelled out by David Watson in second-half stoppage time.

Boos rang around Parkhead when John Beaton blew his full-time whistle and post-match, manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted his side’s display was ‘poor’.

Speaking to CeltsAreHere after the stalemate with Killie, Rodgers said:

“It looked like up until the end we’d get away with it.

“Poor result, poor performance, and we lacked authority with the ball. We lacked composure, all the things you need to do to control the game.”

The manager was understandably in a deflated mood after the game in the press room. Prior to today, his side had won eight out of nine, but performances weren’t improving.

This afternoon’s result seemed to be coming, which makes it even more frustrating for supporters. Responsibility for it lies on the gaffer, players, and club hierarchy.

Culminations of issues have only been highlighted by Celtic’s poor performances and results this season, and supporters are becoming growingly, and understandably, concerned. Things must improve between now and the season’s end if Celtic are to win the title.
