Bosun Lawal has shared his aspirations and readiness to make a significant impact at the club under Brendan Rodgers next season.
Currently on international duty with the Ireland Under-21 team, Lawal is spending the season on loan at Fleetwood Town in England, where he’s caught the eye under the guidance of Charlie Adam, who’s moved him out of the backline and into midfield.
Initially brought in by Scott Brown, now managing Ayr United, Lawal has also worked under Lee Johnson.
Despite experiencing several managerial changes at Fleetwood Town, Lawal’s development has continued apace.
Speaking about his loan in League 1, he revealed contact with Celtic regularly and declared that he was ready to make an impact with the Scottish champions, he said: [RecordSport]
“Obviously [the plan is] to get as many games as I can up until then and go again in pre-season, make an impact hopefully at Celtic. They do keep in touch. I speak to the coaches quite a bit and they come to the games sometimes. I do think I can be a goalscorer, and a defensive player, just whatever the game requires I can provide. That’s how ready I am.”
He’s been a standout player with the Cods but taking the step up to Celtic is no easy task. Rodgers will get a good look at the player in pre-season before heading into the new league term.
