Celtic will not pursue Vitória Guimarães winger Jota Silva as a potential signing this summer.
Celtic had initially shown interest in Silva during the January transfer window, as the Scottish champions looked to bolster Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the title run-in and defend their trophy.
This interest led to an approach to Vitória SC about the possibility of securing the 24-year-old winger, who recently made his full international debut for Portugal and has been enjoying a great season.
However, Celtic subsequently shifted their focus to Nicolas Kuhn, ultimately deciding against pursuing Silva further.
Despite earlier reports suggesting Celtic’s keenness on the attacker, Football Scotland revealed that the club had considered a move for Silva but has now moved away from this possibility. Silva, valued at around €15 million by Vitória SC and attracting attention from Premier League clubs, appears to no longer be a target for Celtic as they look toward other options and priorities in the transfer market.
