Wednesday Morning Cameron Carter-Vickers Scan Update

Celtic’s defensive stalwart, Cameron Carter-Vickers, is expected to make a comeback for the upcoming match against St Johnstone at Celtic Park on Saturday, following a brief injury scare. The American international was sidelined for Celtic’s recent Scottish Cup victory over Livingston, where the Hoops secured a 4-2 win, due to concerns with complications over a previous knee injury.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers provided an optimistic update on Carter-Vickers’ condition, alleviating fears of a prolonged absence. Speaking to Celtic TV, Rodgers highlighted the precautionary measures taken with Carter-Vickers and expressed confidence in the defender’s recovery. “We will have a look at Cameron Carter Vickers, he should be fine, it was precaution,” the Celtic boss said, acknowledging the player’s past knee operation as a source of the current issue.

Rodgers detailed his conversation with the player, indicating a thorough approach to managing his recovery. “I spoke to Cam at length this morning, he just feels everything is based from around his knee operation,” Rodgers shared. The reassurance came from a recent scan and the defender’s work with the medical team, suggesting that Carter-Vickers could rejoin training later in the week. “Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to be that. We’ve had the scan which has come through fine, he’s done some work with the medical team and hopefully he will rejoin the training squad on Thursday and Friday,” Rodgers added.

Celtic’s preparation for the St Johnstone clash is crucial as they continue on their quest to retain their SPFL title and Scottish Cup trophy. The return of Carter-Vickers, a key figure in Celtic’s defence, would provide a significant boost to the team’s backline and overall stability.

Carter-Vickers’ presence in Celtic’s defence can’t be overstated, and his potential return could not come at a more opportune time as the team looks to apply pressure at the top.

Celtic’s medical team will closely monitor his progress in the coming days, with the Celtic faithful eagerly anticipating his return to action.
