Celtic drew 1-1 at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon in the cinch Premiership. It was a disappointing afternoon for the Hoops who once again, let a lead slip late on.
Kyogo’s opener made things look as though they would be plain sailing for the hosts, but David Watson had other ideas. The young midfielder nodded home at the back post late on to secure a vital point for the visitors.
Understandably, the home fans were left frustrated. Boos rang around Parkhead at full-time.
Rodgers gets this, and admitted that he and his side deserve all the criticism that comes their way. He admitted the team were ‘poor’ today, but said that going forward, it is all about the mind.
The gaffer spoke to CeltsAreHere following this afternoon’s draw: “This point of the season is all about the mind game”, he said.
“Technically you’re in a good place, physically you’re in a good place, everything now, the mind game is key.
”It’s a long week ahead.”
It has long been known that Celtic are in a title race. Today’s result has put them at a further disadvantage in it.
The Hoops have now dropped more points this season than they did in the entirety of 2022/23, showing clear signs of concerning regression.
