Confirmed Celtic Team To Play Hibernian; Four Changes, Welsh, Kuhn, Maeda And Idah Start

Celtic travel to Easter Road this evening hoping to reinstate their three-point lead at the top of the table.

Brendan Rodgers has yet to win at Easter Road as Celtic manager. It’s going to be a difficult night for the Hoops with the Scottish Premiership title race intensifying.

The Irishman will himself be more than aware of how important a game like tonight can prove at the end of the season to Celtic’s title hopes.

In goal, Joe Hart keeps his place as does Alistair Johnston at right-back. Liam Scales remains at the heart of the defence, but his partner this week is Stephen Welsh, who replaces Maik Nawrocki. Alexandro Bernabei starts again at left-back.

Callum McGregor captains the side in the centre of the park, with Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo, who have been ever-present since victory over Livingston in December, teaming up with the skipper in an unchanged midfield three.

Up top, Adam Idah leads the line, starting his first game for the Hoops, with Nicolas Kuhn in after his goal at the weekend, and Daizen Maeda comes into the team after his exit from the Asian Cup against Iran on Saturday.

Kyogo Furuhashi drops to the bench, with the likes of Scott Bain, Tony Ralston, Maik Nawrocki, Liel Abada, Odin Holm, Luis Palma, and academy graduates Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly also among the subs.

Kick-off for this one is at 8 pm, and the match is live on Sky Sports.
