Despite the closure of the January transfer window in Scotland, several Celtic players, including James Forrest, may still be on the move.
According to Footy Insider, Forrest has been linked with a switch to the MLS, where the transfer window remains open until Tuesday, April 23, providing a pathway for players seeking opportunities outside of the traditional European transfer periods.
The MLS is not the only league with an open transfer window; clubs from Australia, Ireland, South Korea, Japan, and Sweden, all countries which could be looking at some of Celtic’s squad, also have windows that close at various dates through February and March.
- Australia: Open until February 7th
- Ireland: Open until February 22nd
- South Korea: Open until March 8th
- Japan: Open until March 27th
- Sweden: Open until March 28th
For players struggling to find regular first-team football at Celtic, these windows offer a chance to rejuvenate their careers in different competitive environments. Clubs in these leagues may view Celtic’s fringe players as valuable additions, capable of enhancing squad depth and contributing to their respective campaigns.
